Beer Vats |
After arriving in Hamilton at the end of November, the 6 large beer vats are finally ready to make their journey to Toronto. The German made beer vats came via cargo ship on a 15 day trip across the Atlantic into Hamilton Port Authority as plans to deliver it to Toronto beginning of December were delayed. The company hired to do the move is blaming Hamilton Hydro in a tweet for them not being prepared for the massive Challenger Motor Freight convoy. Hydro companies come into play because some overhead wires have to be temporarily removed because the convoy is so big. The vats will not be going on any major highways eliminating the QEW, 401, 427, so it is on smaller streets. The vats, which can hold six million bottles of beer, are 45 metres long, eight metres high and more than seven metres wide are expected to arrive in Toronto Wednesday morning traveling from 9pm to 6am over 5 consecutive nights.
