YWCA "Walk a mile in her shoes" Charity Walk

Hello everyone. Today I attended the first annual "Walk a mile in her shoes" charity walk at Hamilton City Hall. Needless to say I now understand what women mean when they get sore feet from their heels at upscale events. It was a fun filled day with a BBQ and a lot of men coming out for a great cause. We first started registering followed by being fitted with some of the biggest high heels I have ever seen in my life. Before the "Mile" walk. All of us were lead to a warm up ZUMBA dance to get nice and limber for what was to come.
Below are some pictures of the event.

Vote BERNARD FOR WARD 10, OCTOBER 25th.

Posing with Sgt. Dave Dunbar of the Hamilton Police force who also came out to support.

You don't see this everyday.

Finally!! The finish line. Good day for a good cause. To all the women out there, NOW I GET IT!!! lol

YWCA "Walk a mile in her shoes"

Join me this Tuesday August 31st from 11am to 2pm at Hamilton City hall for the "walk a mile in her shoes" to raise funds and awareness to help women caught in a cycle of poverty, violence and substance abuse.
I will be doing a one mile walk/run with high heels on. Come laugh and enjoy a great fundraiser to support women in crisis. A BBQ will also be provided.

Pictures will be posted on the blog. See you all there.

Garbage Crawl

On Saturday morning I attended the Garbage Crawl organized by community activist Matt Jelly. We started on Stuart Street and went under the bridge and down beside the railway tracks to collect as much as we could. This wasn’t an East vs West Stadium effort, this was getting Hamiltonians together and cleaning up the community.

Being from Ward 10 I got curious what these Garbage Crawls were all about. What I saw was a bunch of individuals who felt let down by their City and wanted to take care of business with or without the City’s help. The pictures are some of the garbage we picked up in as little as 2 hours.

The main idea of "Fresh face, Fresh ideas, Fresh Start"

The main agenda of the “Fresh face, fresh ideas,
fresh start” campaign is to bring much needed change to Ward 10 through regular
open dialogue and a representative that is prepared to listen to the residents
and their ideas and concerns.
