Wettest June 1st on record!!

Officially -- at Hamilton International Airport -- 30 millimetres of rain fell yesterday.

That's good enough to surpass the previous record of 27.4 millimetres -- set back in 1961.

Environment Canada also reports another station in the city checked in with slightly more rain -- at 36 millimetres.

The largest dose in the province fell in Waterloo -- 57 millimetres.

Officials are reminding residents to be aware of heightened water levels in rivers and streams.

Parents are encouraged to keep their children and pets away from fast moving water.

Scattered showers are in the forecast for today and tomorrow -- but generally nothing like we saw yesterday.
