A traffic light is needed to make it safe for drivers, pedestrians and residents of this City.

  1. Wow that really puts things into prespective. I would not want to have to do that (drive out of there) on a daily basis. Scary stuff and I agree that there should be a light.

  2. Wow you would hate to have to pay attention and be a good driver. You cant put lights up at every busy intersection. The dangers are the same at any busy intersection. Just pay attention be patient and when there are not cars that are going to hit you turn then. Pretty simple eh?

  3. Dear Anonymous

I do agree about being patient. But this isn't something that has happened over night. People have had accidents at this intersection, there is a school at this intersection and people have died at this intersection. It's not only about the vehicles, but kids and residents crossing the street. In regards to there being dangers at any busy intersection. All those "busy" intersections have lights at them. This is Stoney Creek, we don't have to many "busy" intersections. But I'm willing to bet that this is the busiest in the area without a light. Something needs to be done.

  4. An elderly man is dead after a tragic accident on Highway 8. Are we paying attention now? Tomorrow it could be someone you know.

  5. I would take a different route, especially when it was busy. I wonder if the reason for not putting the lights in is due spacing dictates. Is there another fully signalized intersection nearby?

  6. People are being KILLED at the junction of Hwy. 8 and Kilbourn Ave.! As the name implies
"Kil" and "born" again spirits! How Ironic is that?! This is clearly another example of how STUPID City Councillors are to not order traffic lights at this problem intersection! Maybe signs should be posted to read "Right Turns Only" from Killbourn to Hwy.8 AND "NO LEFT TURNS" from Hwy. 8 to Kilbourne - until lights are installed?? Maybe someone should stand there and gather petition signatures and
hand out the councillor's phone numbers too?
If nothing is done ASAP, I SMELL LAWSUITS! UNBELIEVABLE B.S.! (db)

  8. Well, a year ago in the Stoney Creek news

She stated that Kilbourn and Highway 8 are in line for repairs. One year later......................
