Today at the John Sopinka Court house, Clr. Maria Pearson's lawyer agreed with Private Prosecutor Jose Pablo Bustamante for a trial date.
The date has been set for February 15th, 2011 at 1:30pm in Court room 320.
Mr. Bustamante alleges that Clr. Pearson broke the Municipal Elections Act in regards to properly filling out her financial statements.
Why is this being delayed for so long??

I've been told that there has been two court appearances and Ms. Pearson didn't show up to any of them.
Maria claims to be innocent. Then why is this being delayed for the 3rd time??
Wow politicians accusing other politicians ( who they are running against ) of doing somthing wrong. This site is a one way propaganda piece of garbage.

ReplyDeleteThis blog is to inform residents about local issues and what is going on in all aspects. I'm sorry that you see it as "propaganda piece of garbage" as this blog is just informing residents of what is going on in the Ward. I've had coffee with Maria and Jose and I respect them both. Writing about an upcoming court case between two former candidates is news worthy. I'm sorry you are upset about this post, but it is the truth and I believe residents should have the right to know what is going on locally.
How come nothing of this is mentioned in the Stoney Creek News or any other Media publication??
